The scheme provides vital job opportunities for people of all ages, whether they are new to the job market, embarking on a new career path or improving existing skills. On the job training ensures apprentices gain skills that are relevant to your business and getting real work experience in your business setting is the best way to grow your team. Training can be an effective way of maximising resources within your workforce, especially during tough economic times. Training can increase morale, improve your systems of work and increase your bottom line. Island Training actively seeks funding opportunities to help Islanders improve their life and work skills, and as part of our commitment to find training solutions that benefit employers and their employees, we work closely with local and national organisations to bring subsidised and accredited training programmes to the Island. We are the only training provider on the Island to offer the globally recognised NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification, we are also proud of our work to provide training and increase awareness of renewable technologies.
Our dedicated sales team can help you identify training that is relevant to your business and advise you on government legislation for areas that require mandatory training. Bespoke training can be arranged at a time and place to suit you, or on-site at The College. The Isle of Wight College is rated as ‘Outstanding’ (Ofsted), is a Beacon Status College and is Matrix accredited, so we are confident that the training received will be of the highest standard. In 2011, the College was awarded the Investors in People (IIP) Gold award demonstrating the high level of commitment that the organisation has in training its own workforce to deliver excellent results.
We will look forward to continuing to work with Island employers and learners to ensure we are meeting their skills needs and creating exciting career opportunities for our existing and future workforce.
